The difference between these three labels is the importance given to each source.
- Sources thought of as most important or as “tier 1” would fall under lead and would be the first to be considered for featured visual treatment. Articles pulled from lead sources will be featured in all subscribers newsletter.
- Sources thought of as important but not necessarily important enough for every subscriber to see would fall under preferred and be considered “tier 2.”
- Sources that would help fill in the rest of the newsletter and offer a variety in content would be regular and considered “tier 3.”
- Sources designated as sponsored behave similar to lead in that the content they produce will be included in all newsletters, but the articles from sponsored sources will not be placed at the top of the newsletter or in the featured visual space. Articles pulled from sponsored sources will be featured in all subscribers newsletters.
