The steps to add a Google News feed as a Source in rasa.io
- Go to www.news.google.com and search for the topic that you would like to create a feed for (i.e. artificial intelligence, educational technology, etc.). Note: a Google search will not suffice.
- This will provide you with the URL for the search and or the topic and it will begin with https://news.google.com/search.
- You can then copy the URL into the Add a New Source page under the Google News category. Now you have successfully added a Google News feed as a Source to begin pulling in content for your newsletter.
- The system will name the source by default as the search name in quotations followed by Google News. Please feel free to change and rename the source to something that feels more appropriate.
In Google News, you have the ability to add filters to your Google News feed search such as date, exclude words, exact phrase, and so on which will help you to refine the content that is being pulled into the rasa.io dashboard. You can access these Google filters by clicking the down arrow on the right-hand side of the search bar. Regardless if you choose to use Google filters, we strongly encourage you to add filters in the rasa.io dashboard for your Google News feeds to ensure that the content being pulled in is the most relevant and refined for your newsletter and your subscribers.
Quick Tip: The system should be able to pick up the Google News feed from the URL, however, if we are having trouble, you can insert an RSS feed.
