Structures and Blocks
Your template consists of Structures and Blocks.
-
Structures define the layout (e.g., one-column vs. two-column). They are especially useful when you want to group multiple pieces of content together or create side-by-side layouts.
-
Blocks are the content elements that you place either inside structures or directly into the template. Blocks are categorized as:
-
Green (Dynamic – Direct): Can be placed directly into the template without a structure. Always dynamic and update automatically based on your inputs.
-
Blue (Dynamic – Structured): Also dynamic, but designed to be used within a structure when you want to combine multiple pieces in the same layout. Examples include Article (Compact) or Event (Compact), which work well in columns or paired with a banner.
-
Gray (Static): Hardcoded content that remains unchanged once placed in the template, such as fixed headers, logos, or footer text.
-
When to Use Structures
-
Direct placement: Green blocks can be dropped straight into the template.
-
Use structures with Blue blocks when:
-
You want multiple compact blocks in a column/row.
-
You need a header (e.g., banner) plus content in the same layout area.
-
You’re working with Article (Compact) or Event (Compact) blocks.
-
Step-by-Step: Creating a Custom Template
Step 1: Add Blocks (with or without Structures)
-
Drag and drop Green blocks directly into the template, or
-
Create a Structure first for layouts that include Blue blocks or multiple grouped elements.
Step 2: Customize Your Template

Add images to your header.
-
Assign articles or events to sections.
-
Customize colors and styles.
-
Adjust the footer to your preferences.

Step 5: Edit and Save Again if Needed
Saving & Version History
When saving your template, you have two options:
-
Save as the same copy
-
Press Save and keep the auto-populated name.
-
This updates the existing template with your changes.
-
-
Save as a new copy
-
Press Save and change the template name.
-
This creates a new template, useful if you want different versions for different newsletter purposes.
-
Each template also includes Version History, which lets you access previously saved versions. This is helpful if you want to revert to an earlier design or compare edits over time.
Using Modules
Modules allow you to save customized structures or blocks for future use, so you can quickly paste them into newsletters without rebuilding from scratch.
How to Save a Module
-
Hover over the structure or block you want to save.
-
Select the Save button.
-
Provide a name for the module.
-
(Optional) Add a description to clarify its purpose.
-
(Optional) Categorize and tag the module for easier searching later.
Saved modules are accessible in the Modules panel, making it easy to reuse common layouts like branded headers, footers, or styled article sections.
