In addition to newsletters, rasa.io supports two other message types: Sequences and Blasts. This article gives you a quick orientation to what they are and how they fit into the platform.
What are Sequences?
Sequences are drip campaigns — a series of emails sent to subscribers over time, triggered by a specific event or schedule.
Common use cases:
- Onboarding series — welcome new subscribers with a series of intro emails over 1-2 weeks
- Educational tracks — deliver a lesson per day or week
- Marketing campaigns — multi-touch promotion of an offer or initiative
- Event registration journeys — orient and prepare registrants leading up to an event
- Member welcome flows — guide new members of an association or community through a structured first experience
Like newsletters, Sequences benefit from rasa.io's AI personalization — the same rich subscriber data that powers your newsletter carries over.
What are Blasts?
Blasts are one-time email broadcasts to a list.
Common use cases:
- Event announcements
- Member or community alerts
- Board or executive updates
- Time-sensitive news
- Special promotions
- Surveys or feedback requests
- Single-issue communications that aren't part of your regular cadence
Unlike newsletters, Blasts don't use AI article personalization — the content is identical for every recipient. But Blasts still take advantage of rasa.io's audience management, scheduling, and analytics.
How they fit into the platform
All three message types — Newsletters, Sequences, and Blasts — live in the same dashboard, share the same contact database, and use the same analytics and design system. You can send any combination based on what your audience needs.
