Once you have access to rasa.io, there are a few things to set up before you send your first newsletter. This article walks you through the essentials.
1. Set up your profile
Go to Settings → Profile to:
- Add your first and last name
- Verify your email address (you should have already received a verification link)
- Set or update your password
- Enable two-factor authentication (recommended)
2. Set up your company info
Go to Settings → Name & Company to enter your organization details:
- Organization Name
- Website
- Timezone — this becomes the default for all your newsletter schedules
- Address — required by email anti-spam laws (CAN-SPAM in the US, CASL in Canada). This address appears in the footer of every email you send.
These are your organization defaults. Individual newsletters can override the sender info if you send on behalf of multiple brands (more on that in Building your newsletter).
3. Invite your team
If others on your team need access, go to Settings → Team & Permissions and click + Invite User.
For each invite, you'll set:
- Name and email
- Role — Admin (can manage the team) or Member (can edit content but not the team)
- Newsletter Access — which newsletters, sequences, or blasts the user should be able to edit
You can give a user access to one, several, or all of your messages. See Team access for more on roles and permissions.
4. Authenticate your sending domain (recommended)
Domain authentication tells inbox providers that rasa.io is allowed to send email on behalf of your domain. It improves deliverability and replaces "via sendgrid.net" with your own domain in inboxes.
Go to Settings → Domain Authentication to start. You'll likely need help from whoever manages your DNS records (often your IT or web team). See How to authenticate your domain for the step-by-step.
5. Choose your subscription types (if needed)
If you plan to send multiple types of email (e.g., a weekly newsletter plus occasional promotions), set up your subscription types in Contacts → Subscriptions so subscribers can choose what they want to receive. See Subscription types for details.
6. Connect integrations (optional)
If you use HubSpot or another connected platform, go to Settings → Integrations to connect your account.
